”Take no bribes, for a bribe makes you ignore something that you clearly see. A bribe makes even a righteous person twist the truth.“Exodus 23:8  NLT

One of the most ensnaring things in this world is money. While money in itself is a noble commodity that answers all things (Ecclesiastes 10:19), it is also the source of worldly conflict, unhappy marriages, broken relationships, lack of trust, the list is endless.

In our theme scripture, the Lord instructs his choicest nation to never take a bribe. The things you see in the world today are not new, they have always existed as part of the fallen wisdoms that invaded the earth cause of sin, and the best way to live well is to take God at his word.

A bribe not only blinds you, but it becomes a snare to you to do even more evil than you had signed up for in attempts to cover up for your mistake. The devil is not a fair player, neither is he a good rewarder, all that comes from him looks great for starters but is always rotten from the root.

Child of God, never let your seeds mingle with dishonest income. Not only will you preserve your wealth, but it will keep you from having to pile up sin and compromise one after the other. Earn your living honestly, and trust the Lord to bless your bread and your water always (Exodus 23:25).

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I work in all things as unto God, I don’t take any of my assignments as an opportunity to do my will. I submit what is mine to you for all good and perfect gifts come from you. Let everything I am and steward glorify Jesus, Amen!
