WILL HE FIND FAITH

“I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?””
Luke 18:8 NKJV

Jesus spoke these words at the close of a parable about a persistent widow who continually cried out for justice.

Her unwavering determination is contrasted with the reluctance of an unjust judge. If even such a judge eventually granted her request, how much more will our righteous and merciful God answer the cries of His children? Christ assures us that God will avenge speedily. Yet, He still will look for those who have faith.

Faith here is not simply belief in the abstract sense, but a perseverance, active trust that clings to God in prayer even when the heavens seem silent. It is the kind of faith that does not give up in waiting, that refuses to let discouragement or delay extinguish hope. Christ is pointing to the reality that many will grow weary, and some will turn away, preferring immediate relief or earthly solutions to the long, steady walk of trust.

Child of God, this question should reach your heart; if Christ returned today, would He find you steadfast in prayer? Would He see faith that endures the trial, the unanswered question, the season of waiting? Or would He find a faith that has withered under the weight of delay?

The widow’s persistence was proof of her belief that justice could and would come. In the same way, our persistence in prayer is evidence of our faith in the God who hears. The true test of faith is not how loudly we begin, but how faithfully we endure until the end. Selah!

Prayer : Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that faith is not a fleeting moment but a persevering trust that holds fast to You in every season. Thank You that You are a righteous Judge who hears the cries of Your children. Strengthen me to remain steadfast in prayer, unwavering in hope, and faithful in the waiting. May my life be found full of faith when You return, to the glory of your name. Amen.
