TRUE CHILDREN OF THE SPIRIT
“But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.”” Romans 9:6-7 NKJV
God’s promises never fail, but not everyone who appears to belong to Him truly does. Paul reminds us here that being born into the right nation or family does not make one part of God’s covenant.
Abraham had many descendants, yet only through Isaac came the promise. This distinction shows that God’s purposes are fulfilled not by human effort or heritage, but by His sovereign grace. To be “Israel” in God’s eyes is not a matter of outward identity, but about inward faith. Likewise, many may appear close to God through tradition or association, but only those who trust in His promise through Christ are His true children.
Just as Isaac was born through God’s promise, we too are born again by faith, not by lineage or works. God’s word still takes full effect. It never fails, it only bears fruit in those who receive it by faith. Praise God.
Prayer: My Father, I thank You that Your promises stand firm even when human hearts waver. I do not rely on background, status, or outward identity, but on the faith that comes through Christ alone. I am a true child of promise, walking in the power of Your Word, to the glory of God. Amen.
