PATIENCE IS A CHOICE

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9 NIV

Patience is a very common practice among believers. God’s people have always been a waiting people; waiting for His coming, His promises, His revelations, and His work both in us and through us. Waiting is not a pause in God’s plan; it is part of God’s plan.

It is by His sheer mercy and grace that we have come to know Him. And when you look around and feel as though others are taking too long to know the One you have known, remember this: the same God who was patient with you is being patient with them. What you call delay, He calls mercy.

What you see as slowness, He sees as another opportunity for repentance.

So thank Him for His patience toward you, and thank Him even more for His patience toward those who are still on their way — for He desires that none should perish.

Prayer: My Father, I thank You for the mercy that waited for me. Teach me to trust Your timing and to reflect Your patience toward others. May my heart align with Your desire that none should perish, and may I wait with grace, hope, and love with a perpetual willingness to witness your name. Amen.
