TO BE EMPOWERED TO DECIDE

“God has transmitted his very substance into every Scripture, for it is God-breathed. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness. Then you will be God’s servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 TPT

One of the things I have seen trip up many believers, even myself, is taking responsibility for things God never tasked us to carry.

Protecting your own righteousness slowly turns into self-righteousness. Protecting your own image becomes image management. What began as sincerity becomes self-preservation. But Scripture was not given to help us defend ourselves. It was given to transform us into the likeness of Christ.

The Word corrects us when we assume too much. It instructs us when we step beyond our assignment. It humbles us when pride disguises itself as zeal. God-breathed Scripture does not merely inform our decisions, it empowers them. It trains our discernment so we know what is ours to carry and what belongs to God.

Maturity in Christ is not doing more; it is obeying precisely. When the Word governs your decisions, you are freed from striving. You are strengthened to say yes where God has spoken and no where He has been silent.

Child of God, in that clarity, you become “fully prepared” for every assignment He has actually given you.

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I thank you for your word that is everlasting, trustworthy and standard for truth. I stand corrected where there is error and trust your counsel for it withstands the test of time. Guard me from self-righteous striving and image management. Mature me through your truth, and empower me to carry only what you have assigned to me, in Jesus name. Amen.
