APPOINTED FOR SALVATION
“For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Thessalonians 5:9 NIV
Every day, the enemy whispers lies that we’re not good enough, that our failures have disqualified us, and that God must be angry with us. It’s easy to believe that His wrath is waiting for us around every corner, ready to crush us when we stumble. But God’s Word tells us the opposite. He did not appoint us to suffer wrath.
Through Jesus Christ, God appointed us to receive salvation, not punishment. His wrath was poured out on Jesus at the cross so we could stand in His grace, covered and secure. Our salvation isn’t fragile because it’s anchored in Christ’s finished work, not our performance. Child of God, when you fail, His mercy meets you, when you fear, His peace holds you, when the enemy accuses, the blood of Jesus speaks louder, declaring you forgiven and loved.
This truth can only silence fear and shame if you believe that He loved you before you could even perform, and more than you can ever perform for. The greatest unkindness you can show to God, if belong to Jesus, is to not believe this truth. You were destined for salvation now and forever, it is for you to accept it. And if you have, rest assured that there is nothing you can do to make Him love you less, hallelujah!
Prayer: My Father, I thank You for appointing me to receive salvation through Jesus, not wrath. Help me to rest in Your grace and live with confidence that I am secure in Your love. Silence every lie of the enemy and fill my heart with Your peace today in Jesus’ name. Amen.
