CHILDREN OF FAITH
“Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.” Galatians 3:23-25 NIV
Faith is the hallmark of a heart rooted in the finished work of Christ.
If anyone is in Christ, faith and wisdom must guide their daily walk, for the enemy’s oldest tactic is to sow doubt that unsettles our confidence in God. The same question whispered to Eve “Did God really say?”echoes in new forms today.
One of the clearest examples is the spirit of religion. Like the Galatians, many are tempted to finish by works of the flesh what God began in faith. Instead of resting in Christ’s justification, they reach for counterfeit solutions.
Consider wealth: Scripture promises God’s children provision and peace, yet because we live in a fallen world, not all prosper alike. When impatience or unbelief sets in, some resort to shortcuts such as dishonesty, bribes, or schemes, rather than persevering in God’s principles of integrity, stewardship, and generosity.
But the gospel calls us back to freedom. We are no longer bound under a guardian. Christ has fulfilled the law and secured for us a righteousness that cannot be earned or lost. Our call is to walk by faith, trusting His wisdom, and refusing to trade His eternal promises for temporary gain.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of faith and for the freedom Christ has secured for us. Forgive us for the times we have leaned on our own strength or sought shortcuts instead of trusting You. Help us to live as Your children of faith, walking in wisdom, standing firm in truth, and resting in what You have already accomplished. We are grateful that in Christ, the work is finished. Amen.
