DIVINE KNOWLEDGE
“The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.” Psalms 25:14 NIV
Every human being has an inbuilt sense of knowing that is part and parcel of being made in the image of God and carrying a sense of eternity within, which only He can satisfy (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Some may call it intuition, gut feeling, or instinct, but others recognize that it is truly God’s Spirit in man. In our theme scripture, David brings the point home even more intimately.
The word “confides” is used interchangeably with “secret” in Hebrew, and it speaks of a secret not meant to hide wrongdoing, but the kind shared within a privileged, trusted relationship.
Child of God, our Father in heaven delights to give us counsel, to discuss important matters with us, to grant us insight as one would trusted advisors and companions.
It is never the Lord’s will for any of us to walk without direction. As James writes, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach” (James 1:5 NKJV).
You have a Father who is deeply in touch with your reality.
Prayer: My Father, I thank You for counting me worthy of Your confidence. Teach me to revere you rightly, to walk softly before you, and to listen when you speak. Grant me wisdom for every decision and light for every path. May my heart remain open, attentive, and yielded to your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
