FAITH THAT PLEASES GOD
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 NIV
The word “faith” comes from the Greek pistis, meaning a conviction that God exists, is the creator and ruler of all things, and is the giver of salvation through Christ.
Many mistake faith for simply feeling sure or trusting that God will give them what they want. While belief plays a role in faith, true faith is rooted in belief in God and His Son. When you believe in God and His Messiah, you can trust what is true about His character: He means what He says and does what He promises.
His plans for you are good and just, and He allows nothing to happen to you that He hasn’t already equipped you to overcome. Child of God, men don’t obey God until they first believe in Him. And pleasing God comes through obeying Him. Selah.
Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. I settle into this new cycle with a learned heart. I have faith that drives every one of my works. You have impressed on my spirit a profound inclination to obey, no matter the cost for I know you are with me every step of the day, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
