HOW YOU HEAR
“But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15 NKJV
Our theme scripture highlights an essential aspect of our transformation by the Holy Spirit: how you hear. Luke teaches that hearing the Word with a noble and good heart enables you to keep it and bear fruit over time.
Many believers receive the Word indifferently, with resistance, or even a critical attitude that hinders it from taking root. In the end, they may know many scriptures by heart, yet the fruit remains unseen in how they live.
Another vital part of this process is patience. God is not in a hurry as He shapes our inner man. You may not get everything right at once. Sometimes, a truth settles so clearly it changes you immediately; other times, you may stumble before you grasp it fully. Don’t be discouraged—He is patient with you.
Remember, “it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Word and the grace to hear it rightly. Teach me to receive it with a noble heart, to be patient as You work in me, and to bear lasting fruit that brings You glory, in Jesus name, Amen.
