MADE AFTER THE LIKENESS OF GOD
“Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.” Romans 2:14-15 NLT
Before we ever had the Holy Spirit dwelling in man, we were already made in the image and the very likeness of God.
This is why the writer of Ecclesiastes affirms that a sense of eternity has been placed in the heart of every man and only God can satisfy it( Ecc 3:11). To understand this in perspective, we ought to define eternity as he does, and it is that God has placed in humans an awareness of transcendent, enduring time, beyond mere mortality.
Our theme scripture reiterates the same truth, that even those who do not believe in Jesus have a conscience and moral compass that will lead them to do what is right without needing to be told, in there proving the law of God is indeed embedded in the hearts of men. Likewise the same conscience will judge them for doing what’s wrong, knowing it is so.
Child of God, understand that you are God’s masterpiece, made and created to reflect Him and His light even through the cracks of what sin broke. But it is even more important to pursue Christ, whom you believe, confess and accept as Lord and Savior, becoming a new creature with no cracks or brokenness.
Prayer: My Father, I thank you for this word. I thank you for the veil that broke and the nearness that permits me to worship in spirit and in truth. I am confident in the power of your indwelling spirit to teach me into all truth and guide me in the way everlasting, in Jesus name. Amen!
