NOT MINGLING WITH EVIL (II)

”But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods. Now God had given the chief of staff both respect and affection for Daniel.“
Daniel 1:8-9 NLT

There is a favor from God that is directed to a man that has a resolve to uphold his covenant with Him. The scripture tells us that God had given the chief of staff respect and affection.

In Proverbs 16:7, the Bible says when a man’s ways please God, He causes even his enemies to be at peace with him. There was a previous discipline present in Daniel, obedience and confidence in the protection and trustworthiness of God to keep him and his peers healthy.

A man that has not understood his need for God and the power that God has over his creation to make it well, strong, healthy with or without external input cannot dare make such a demand. Instead, fear causes such a man to comply to save ‘his life’.

God is love (1 John 4:8), and perfect love casts out all fear (1John 4:18). The love of God must be so strongly engrained in you for fear not to have any hold whatsoever. For such love to be so, you the believer ought to willfully guard your heart and keep yourself from the paths that lead to enticement.

The promise to make a way for you to escape all temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13)  is not to the waster that continually and without resistance exposes themselves to sin. Be wise in what is good and simple in what is evil!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I see the world through the lens of your word and because of it, I am kept from the snares set for my demise. I am not hidden from the powers set to advantage me, neither am I made visible to those set to destroy me. My path shines brighter, and brighter into a marvelous light until the day of Jesus Christ, Amen!
