OF SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS

”Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies.“ Psalms 24:3-4 NLT

I have often emphasized that we can lie and pretend about anything and to anybody but our conscience will always judge us in one way or another.

In the book of Job, the man of God speaks of a man whose prayers, heaven makes haste to answer, that even if he prayed for his enemies God will rescue them just because he prayed (Job 22:29-30). What would make this man’s prayer stand out? It is what the psalmist is talking about in our theme scripture.

The longer you walk diligently, teachably and intentionally with God, He kills your flesh and makes your spirit so sensitive and alive to His heart towards His people and situations. Gradually, you begin to deal with every man according to the heart of God and not merely regarding them in the flesh (2 Corinthians 5:6).

The purity of the heart is in its ability to sincerely hate and shun evil, the cleanliness of hands is in how swift they are to respond to conviction and Godly sorrow that leads to life. It is for such people that the Kingdom of God is for.

Child of God learn to look to God, magnify Him in all things regardless of circumstances and in the end you will find that your confessions are unwavering, your faith rock-solid, and in there so will your hands be clean and heart pure. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. Your patience towards man is truly worth every death we have to die to self. As the psalmist often reckons where else would I go if it wasn’t to you? I am sensitive to godly sorrow that I may be quick to repent and wallow not in regret. To this effect I am always positioned to intercede for the Lord’s people and nations with an undefiled heart and willing hands, in Jesus name. Amen!
