ONE WITH GOD IS MAJORITY
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah” Psalms 46:1-3 NKJV
David is a masterful example of what it means for a man to be a majority because God is on his side.
Whether it was in the cave of Adullam, under the shadow of Saul’s spear, exiled because of Absalom, or drowning in sorrow over his own sin—David never ultimately fell into despair, but into the hands of God. From David’s life we learn a profound truth: we can choose to turn to God for literally everything. Our nature draws us to seek comfort when trials arise, but God Himself assures us He is our refuge and strength, one that is not distant. The God of the universe tells you that He is “your very present help in trouble,” not merely a promise for the future but a reality for now.
Child of God, in the face of such — fear loses its grip when we realize that His presence outweighs the chaos surrounding us. To be with Him is to stand secure, even when the earth quakes or the mountains tremble. One with God truly is a majority, not because trouble ceases, but because His presence never fails.
Prayer: My Father, I thank you for this comforting truth. In you I live, move and have my being, whether in time of need, sorrow or joy. Remind me that Your presence is my refuge and strength, greater than any fear or storm. Help me to trust, even more than David did, for You alone hold me secure, no matter how the world around me shakes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
