THE FREEDOM IN DEPENDING ON GOD (II)

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.” Psalms 25:4-6 NIV

For a man the caliber of King David, you would expect the natural order of appreciation to start with his military prowess, his leadership skills, his handsome stature or his wealth — but God was most impressed with his heart.

From his days in the field with the livestock, to those of his slaughter of a bear, lion and philistine giant; to the times of his adulterous affair and manslaughter of an innocent person, David never once shied away from coming to God.

Our theme scripture is a pattern to which we are all invited to as children of God. James 1:5 says: “he gives wisdom to those who ask”. Child of God, never allow the schemes and attacks of the enemy to pull you further from the gracious presence of our Lord.

We do not have a King who is unaware of our weaknesses, our shortcomings, our faults or distorted thoughts. Instead, He has taken on the same body as us to endure the same trials and temptations as we do, so that when the time of our testing comes — we may have Him to look up to, with the same confidence that His end is our end. His triumph guarantees our own.

May this truth never depart from your heart. Hallelujah!

Prayer: My Father, I thank you for this truth. I thank you for reconciling me to yourself through Christ that died for my sin and imputes righteousness as I follow. I am filled with faith by your spirit and know I have eternal access to my savior and Lord. By this I carry answers, I have an unction from on high through which I know all things and have my being through you. Amen!
