THE FREEDOM IN DEPENDING ON GOD (II)

“After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’” Acts 13:22 NIV

The posture of David’s heart caused him to be remembered in the annals of time as a man after God’s own heart.

When God searched Israel, He wasn’t looking for the most impressive man, He was looking for the most surrendered one. David’s greatness was rooted in a simple truth: when God spoke, David’s heart leaned forward. His “yes” was already on the table.

A heart after God is not measured by our public victories but by our private willingness. It is shaped in hidden places, fields, caves, quiet rooms where only God sees the wrestling and the yielding. David failed at times, but he always returned broken and honest before the Lord. That humility kept his heart aligned with God’s.

Today, God is still looking for hearts like David’, hearts that may not be perfect but are fully available. Hearts that say, “Lord, whatever You want, You can have.” That is the kind of surrender that draws heaven close.

Prayer: My Father, I thank You for shaping my heart to follow yours. Remove anything that resists your will. Teach me the joy of immediate obedience and the beauty of a surrendered life. Make my heart wholly Yours, today and always, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
