THE OFFERS OF GRACE

“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.” Titus 2:11 NIV

One of the many contentions of skeptics is this: If God is all-powerful, why doesn’t He simply save everyone and change them in an instant?

It’s a valid question, but it’s rooted in a misunderstanding of grace. You see, salvation is not forced, It is offered. And the thing about offers is that they can be accepted, or declined. Those who remain unchanged have not done so because salvation was unavailable, but because they refused to receive it. Grace, though free, still requires a response. Think of it like a job offer. When you apply to a company, you may be presented with an offer outlining your role, responsibilities, benefits, and salary. That offer sits before you. You still must choose to accept it, renegotiate, or walk away.

The offer of salvation is similar, but with one massive difference: there is no negotiation. The terms have already been fulfilled by God through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He doesn’t owe us better terms. He offers us the best already, full forgiveness, adoption into His family, and eternal life through faith. Our part is simply to receive. This grace is extended to all people. Not just the religious, not just the well-behaved, not just the “good” people but all. But the transformation it brings is only experienced by those who say yes.

Prayer: My Father, thank You for Your grace that appeared in Christ, unearned, undeserved, and yet freely given. Help my heart to remain open to Your offer daily, not just once. Let me never forget that salvation is not a reward but a gift. Soften the hearts of those still resisting, and use my life to reflect the beauty of Your invitation. In Jesus’ name, amen.
