THERE IS NOTHING GOOD THAT GOD CAN’T DO

“Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.” Isaiah 59:1 NIV

The previous verses of Isaiah 57 and 58, the prophet addresses the people’s spiritual condition, one of waywardness and rebellion.

Israel kept succumbing to the consequences of their sins, and as a result they began to wonder if God was strong enough to help them or if He didn’t ultimately care about them altogether. The problem was not whether God was strong enough to save; the problem was the sin that separated the people from Him. In chapter 58, God calls out the people for being ritualistic and performative, yet their hearts were far from Him.

We see the same thing today—when challenging times come, many are quick to judge Him foolishly. Yet the prophet assures us that not only is God able to save, heal, and deliver, but His power has neither diminished nor has His attentiveness waned.

Child of God, when prayers seem unanswered or God feels distant, the first question should not be whether God has lost strength, but whether we are walking in alignment with Him. Sanctify the Lord in your hearts, and in all your dealings, judge Him faithful.

Prayer: My Father, I thank You that Your arm is never too short to save and Your ear is never dull to hear. Forgive me for the times I have doubted Your power or questioned Your care. Search my heart and remove anything that separates me from You. Help me to trust that You are faithful, strong, and attentive in every season of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
