TO BE BLESSED (VII)
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9 NIV
Making peace is not always something we humans gravitate towards, because it is oftentimes thankless or perceived as weakness, but it doesn’t make it any less of an attribute only those moved by God’s spirit possess.
As children of God however, we are not to despise the counsel of the Lord even when it is hard to uphold. He gives us grace to accomplish what He asks, if we are willing to submit and obey.
For this reason we have to make every effort to keep peace, recover it if its broken and constantly be creative in ways which we may cause peace to return where there may have been breach of it among our brothers and sisters, especially in the body of Christ.
Prayer: My Father, I thank you for this truth. Help me to be an agent of peace in my surrounding, to express the love you have showed me to others who are in need of it. Let it be said of me that I modeled the kingdom of which I am son, in Jesus name. Amen!
