TRUSTING IN THE SOLID ROCK
“Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low; he levels it to the ground and casts it down to the dust.” Isaiah 26:4-5 NIV
The world’s standard of success is weighed in form of intellect, wealth, acclaim, and true to form such things are great to possess in good measure. They do however carry potential to become strongholds of pride, and all that is built on pride is bound to one day crumble.
On the other hand, what is built on humility is not left to the mercy of chance but backed by God’s own promise to be exalted. Such is the heart of our theme scripture, the Lord alone is the everlasting strength. His Kingdom is not shaken by shifting markets, failing systems, or fragile human glory. What rises in human pride will eventually bow in dust before His sovereign hand ever could.
Child of God, the call to trust today in the One who remains forever is not a light one, but an anchoring hope that assures us of success that comes with peace. When we rest on our own wisdom and resources, we are like one that stands on sand. Likewise, when our hope is anchored in the Lord, we find peace that cannot be stolen and a strength that does not fade.
May it never be said of you that you forsook your mercies chasing false security and shaky anchors. Hallelujah !
Prayer: My Father, I thank you for teaching my heart to trust You beyond the moment, beyond what I see, and beyond myself. Search my heart and tear down prideful dependence. Build in me the quiet confidence that is anchored in who you are. You alone are my everlasting strength, my Rock and my peace, forever. Amen.
