WORKING OUT YOUR SALVATION (II)
“They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises.” Romans 9:4 ESV
Have you ever noticed how easy it is for us to take for granted the things that are readily available?
This isn’t a problem unique to modern society—it’s something that even the chosen people of God, the Jews, struggled with. Paul’s heartache was that those who had received all the privileges—God’s law, worship, and promises—still rejected the Messiah, the very fulfillment of those promises.
Child of God, while the promises of our Lord stand forever because He cannot deny Himself, we must be careful not to grow complacent with the precious gift of salvation we’ve received. As we yield to the transformation of our hearts through the renewal of our minds, Christ’s nature becomes more evident and active in us.
Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Father, I thank You for this reminder. Help me never to lose sight of the precious gift You gave us through Christ. I am grateful for Your immense love and grace toward humanity. I strive to extend the same love and grace in light of all You’ve done for me. Thank You for making up for my shortfalls and filling in my weaknesses. To You belong glory, honor, and praise forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
CI.
