CHOSEN TO KNOW HIM

““Then he said: ‘The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.” Acts 22:14-15 NIV

When Paul recounts his conversion, he does not describe it merely as a dramatic encounter, but as a divine appointment. God did not interrupt Paul’s life at random; He chose him with purpose. The calling was to know His will, to behold the Righteous One, to hear His voice, and to bear witness.

This order is not accidental. God first calls a man to know His will before He sends him to speak for Him. True witness does not begin with eloquence, charisma, or ambition; it begins with revelation. A person cannot faithfully testify about Christ if they have not first encountered Him. The power of the gospel in our lives is not rooted in borrowed experiences, but in what we ourselves have seen and heard through the grace of God.

To “see the Righteous One” is to behold Christ as He truly is—holy, just, and yet merciful toward sinners. When this vision settles in the heart, everything changes. Pride weakens, self-righteousness fades, and gratitude grows. We believers realizes that our life is no longer our own, but a living testimony to the grace that rescued us.

Child of God, our message is not meant to be the echo of cultural opinions or personal philosophies; it is meant to reflect the truth that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. When His Word takes root in the heart, all that hear it become vessels through which His truth flows into the world.

Prayer: My Father, I thank you for revealing yourself to us through Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. Grant us hearts that desire to know your will and ears that are attentive to your voice. Let your Word dwell richly within us so that our lives may faithfully testify to your grace. Make us bold and humble witnesses, speaking not from pride, but from gratitude for all that you have done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
