FANING THE FLAMES OF FAITH
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”2 Timothy 1:6 NIV
There are gifts and graces that can be imparted through faith and prayer, but everything that has been received is like a fire that needs to be fanned into greater intensity.
Paul knew there would be times we would need to grow in faith, and he constantly reminded his spiritual sons of this. The same applies to us, whether it be our gift of faith, or the gifts of the spirit, we ought to fan them into growth. When we fast, when we worship, when we pray individually and collectively, when we read The Word and fellowship with one another, we are fanning these flames.
May you receive and exercise wisdom as you fan the gifts of God placed in you for His glory.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. Move my heart toward the gifts that enable me to stand in my purpose most. Let your glory be made manifest through me as I delight in obeying your lead, in Jesus name. Amen!
