RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD (I)

“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?” Luke 12:57 NIV

I often tell people that because of the Bible, I have all the answers I need; I just have to search for them.

While this may sound bold or even exaggerated at times, it remains true. As Paul writes, “these things were written aforetime for our learning” (Romans 15:4).In other words, the Creator of the universe—OUR Creator—knew exactly what we would need, and He made it accessible to those who earnestly seek (Hebrews 11:6).

It is our part to read, think then judge for ourselves. There’s nothing that nourishes the soul quite like uncovering the treasures hidden in Scripture, no matter how scattered they may seem. That’s why the Word of God is described as sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to divide soul and spirit, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

It’s through this curiosity, study, and longing to hear from Him in His own words that our hearts are prepared to receive His seed (Luke 8:11), and the veils are lifted. Praise the Lord!

Prayer: Father I thank you for manifesting yourself through your word. I have instruction and counsel readily available through your word and through my teachers. Give me a heart of flesh that is swift to obey your lead, in Jesus name. Amen!
