HOLY FEAR (REVERENCE)
“Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth! Serve the Lord with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling.” Psalms 2:10-11 NLT
Though Christ is a friend and brother, He also remains King and Lord. It is wise to always keep abundant joy close to the fear of God in your heart. We don’t need to seek any further as it pertains to wisdom or understanding. Fearing God is the beginning of all wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), it preserves you from many of the concealed traps of the enemy which may disguise themselves as light.
Conversely, the knowledge of His Holy son undergirds you as understanding for you cannot know the Father except through the Son. Most get it mixed up on the matter of intimacy, wondering how you can be intimate with one whom you fear? This is when joy comes in for holy fear without joy is torment while joy without fear would be presumptuous (interfering with the firmament that must exist between creator and creation).
Child of God, preserve your heart from all callousness and familiarity. Blessed are those who put their trust in Him! Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I live in perpetual awe and reverence of you yet know I am loved deeply and cared for immensely. To you belong all glory, honor and praise through Christ Jesus our Lord, Amen!
