PERFECT WILL
“I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” Psalms 40:8 NIV
The law was too broad for us to accomplish. In the book of James 2:10 is written a hard truth, that if you offended in one of the set laws, it was an offence in all.
Christ alone was able to fulfill the complete will of the Lord, and it is in that righteousness of His to fulfill his assignment down to the agonizing death he died — where we get the privilege to be called sons of God.
In our theme scripture, our Lord says it was His desire to do the will of God because His law was in His heart. In verse above He declares that it was written of Him in the volume of every book to accomplish God’s perfect purpose. Child of God, our Lord’s statement shows us that the essence of obedience is in one’s delight and cheer of the soul to be devoted to God as one in the world but not of it.
Be of good cheer, look to Jesus and yield to the help of the spirit in fulfilling God’s perfect will. The same spirit that empowered our Lord to finish well, is the same spirit at work in you! You cannot fail. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this blessed word. I live in perpetual desire to do your will for it was equally written about me to do as my master did. I take pleasure in giving you glory in all that I do, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
