A YIELDED HEART
“Dear child, I want your full attention; please do what I show you.” Proverbs 23:26 MSG
Multiple translations of the same passage say “my son give me your heart”. Today I chose to speak on the message version for it conveys the end to which we ought to give God our hearts above all else — that He may show us what to do.
Many causes of detrimental compromises that believers make are because of unyielded hearts. Countless are the things men have done to maintain positions of power, jobs or titles. The opposite is true, some may have seemed like they are loosing or missing out because they chose not to sell their bodies for a position, or approve a fraudulent contract for the sake of enriching themselves, yet be rewarded and vindicated by the God in whom they chose to trust.
Child of God, many are the things that will attempt to test your character as long as you are walking the face of the earth. Nevertheless, you have been provided a way to coming out triumphant, and this is to live a yielded life to your God.
As it is written, the wisdom of God is foolishness to men, and you may be cast out, mocked and called all names, but always remember the end of a thing is better than its beginning and it is your Father in Heaven that has the final say.
Be encouraged, and stay the course. Praise God!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I have resolved to wait on your counsel in all that concerns my decisions and way of life, regardless of what it cost me. As the psalmist testifies, I have not seen the righteous forsaken, and thus shall remain my testimony, in Jesus mighty name.
