HOW FAITH COMES

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 NKJV

Faith is like a muscle—it must be consistently exercised in order to grow.

Paul outlines the path to that growth: it comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Every serious believer must be intentional about curating their environment, schedule, and relationships to allow space for continual reflection on God. Scripture tells us faith comes by hearing the Word.

And the Word is proclaimed through sermons, shared in testimonies, spoken in life-giving conversations, and nurtured in friendships that know how to speak a word in season and stand firm in spiritual warfare when a friend is under attack.

Anyone who professes Christ yet distances themselves from the local church is vulnerable—because there is divine protection in corporate prayer, and safety in the multitude of wise counselors.

Prayer: Father, thank You for this truth. Thank You for the gift of community, for the joy of accountability, and the friendships formed in the local church. May we stay yielded to the work of the Holy Spirit as You prepare a spotless, wrinkle free and blameless Bride. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
