”Even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.“
Psalms 23:4 TPT
Psalm 23 is not for a man who has not yet understood the blessed assurance of being owned by the God of the universe and living solely to please and serve Him in their body.

Psalm 22 is a long-standing prophecy by David, centuries before our Lord Jesus was even crucified and it ends with the same words our Lord said in John 19:30– It is finished.

It leaves us to understand that the claims of the believer in Psalm 23, are those of one that understands what has been done on the cross for them and embraces it fully, in meditation and in action.

It is such an intimate acquaintance with God that he boldly writes ‘fear will never conquer me, cause you already have’.1 Peter 4:18 reads there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear; all this to say the place often occupied with fear is occupied with perfect love because one must rule— never both.

Child of God, it is your portion, even your inheritance I dare say, to live free of the fears that fill the hearts of those who refuse Christ. Your Christian experience should have no other pride or badge of honor but that of a fearless life because perfect love has conquered its seat. Selah!

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. Of my increase there is no end because He who is in me is far greater than He who is in the world. I abide secure and fearless because your love is my protective shield, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
