OF FAMILIARITY

“Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent:” Matthew 11:20 NKJV

Familiarity is one of the things that cripples faith the most. We see this pattern with Jesus himself, who was unable to perform as many miracles in his own hometown because people knew him as the carpenter’s son that grew before their eyes.

The issue with man is that we try to interpret the wisdom of God with human wisdom which cause it to appear foolish, forsaking the help of the spirit that sounds the bottomless things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10).

Child of God, we have a responsibility to yield our hearts to God that he may search it and rid us of things that may look at his vessels of glory with contempt, hindering us from receiving altogether.

Let your heart not grow cold and deceive you to regard men in the flesh (2 Corinthians 5:16).

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I am a learned spirit and I know how to discern men in the spirit rather than the flesh. You are the God who calls the things that are not as though they are and train my hands for skill, lead me to the rock higher than I that I may see men as you see them, to the glory of your name. Amen!
