OF HONOR

”Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.“ Ephesians 6:5-6 NLT

One of the things that I have always found aggravating is service providers that treat their customers as a given.

You may present yourself to an organization looking for a product or service, but the person in charge of giving you the service in question has gone for lunch for three hours. In the professional world, that is called stealing company time.

It may seem like these are small offenses that don’t cost much, and even Christians may be ignorant of such facts and principles. Child of God, it should not be so for you. Such things matter to your Father in heaven for God hates unjust scales (Proverbs 11:1). What the service provides should be directly compatible to what the customer is paying for.

You would start seeing your work differently if I told you today that God is the one that signs your paycheck according to how you have been weighed on all scales as it pertains to integrity, discipline, dedication and honesty.

Jesus tells us that we should be hospitable because we might entertain angels unbeknownst to us (Hebrews 13:2). Let this be your invitation to treat your work with diligence as if you are reporting to God, and this regardless of your relationship with your master. Selah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I have exercised my spirit to acknowledge you in everything that I do. I know you appoint and demote kings and promotion neither comes from south or west but from God. It is to this effect that above all I submit to your counsel, that the approval of men does not become a snare unto me. Help me, and give me wisdom to do according to your good pleasure, in Jesus name. Amen!
