OF SUSTAINING WEALTH
“Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Timothy 6:9-10 NIV
From time immemorial, many people especially within the Pentecostal and Evangelical communities have associated poverty to piety.
While this is not God’s heart for His children, the intention behind it was to altogether circumcise their hearts from the griefs that are brought about by the love of money, as Paul exhorts.
In our theme scripture however, we discover that wealth can be both desired and earned through hard work and dedication, but it can only be sustained by a heart that upholds divine principles and carries the fear of God in order for the love of money not to overtake the principle thing.
Child of God, your heavenly Father has exhorted you to have dominion and occupy until He comes. When you understand that you are only a steward of all that’s entrusted to you, you will not be of those who fall to the griefs caused by the love of money. Praise God!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. I thank you that my barns are filled with stock in their season. I thank you that the works of my hands are blessed for my wealth is distributed to the purpose of building your kingdom. It shall be said of me that I stewarded all that’s been entrusted to me, to the glory of your name; in Jesus name. Amen!
