OUR CALLING IN GOD’S ULTIMATE PLAN
“But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being.” Galatians 1:15-16 NIV
As believers, we must remain conscious that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only unchanging reality.
It does not shift, weaken, or lose power. It is eternally consistent, and its message—salvation through Christ—is the ultimate goal of God’s calling. Our primary assignment is not personal gain or even moral perfection, but the proclamation of redemption: that all may hear and be saved.
Holiness flows from redemption—it does not produce it. As one wisely said, “Personal holiness is an effect of redemption, not the cause of it.” Paul reminds us that we are set apart by God, not by our own striving. He begins the work in us and is faithful to complete it, using us as vessels of His grace.
When we seek holiness apart from Him, we risk making it an idol. True service to God flows from intimacy with Him.
Therefore, don’t isolate yourself by self-effort or ambition. Be set apart by God and unto God, so your service remains pure and your calling clear. Praise God!
Prayer: Father, I thank You for calling me by Your grace and not by my merit. I thank you for helping me to never lose sight of redemption as the ultimate aim. I thank you for setting me apart by Your Spirit, that I may serve You with a pure heart and a focused mind. Use me as a vessel to proclaim the Gospel and glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
