OF OBEYING GOD
“If you love me, keep my commands.” John 14:15 NIV
Disobedience is often not about a deliberate decision to rebel against God, but rather a reflection of how deeply we love and revere Him.
Most people don’t wake up intending to disobey God. Instead, they simply haven’t set their hearts to consider Him in all things—as the center of their affections. Obedience flows from a heart that is consumed by Him, responding to life through the lens of one who is wholly devoted to Christ.
Our theme verse is clear: “If you love me,” Jesus says, “you will obey me.” Child of God, don’t exhaust yourself trying to figure out what to do—instead, devote yourself fully to the One who is worthy of your whole heart. When your love for Him takes first place, obedience becomes the natural overflow. Praise God.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for this truth. Help me to love You more deeply, that obedience may become my joyful response. Let my heart be fixed on You, and may every step I take be guided by devotion, not duty. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
