TO BE DILIGENT WITH GOD’S CORRECTION

“Although he did not remove the high places from Israel, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.”
2 Chronicles 15:17 NIV

It’s easy to assume that righteous living is measured by outward appearances, but God is most concerned with the condition of our hearts.

In our theme verse, King Asa was described as fully committed to the Lord, yet he left the high places untouched—areas of compromise that reflected incomplete obedience. This mirrors what we see today: someone may not drink or curse, but secretly indulge in pride, bitterness, or sexual sin, thinking it goes unnoticed.

Beloved, examine your inner life. Are there “high places”—habits, thoughts, or attitudes—that still stand as quiet defiance against God’s will? Tear them down. The same God who is rich in mercy is also the One who lovingly exposes what’s hidden, not to condemn, but to restore. Praise God!

Prayer: Father, I thank You for this truth. Search my heart and expose anything—pride, fear, or doubt—that hinders my obedience. Give me the grace to respond to Your love with wholehearted devotion. Let it be said of me that I didn’t just profess love for You, but proved it through obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
