OUR DUTY & GOD’S DUTY
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.” John 6:44 NIV
As ministers of the Gospel, we do not save or sanctify souls; we are called only to disciple. If you can walk with someone until they are fully yielded to God, your role is complete.
Oswald Chambers wisely warned against seeking or delighting in “spiritual success,” cautioning that it can tempt us to burden those entrusted to us with yokes too heavy to bear—lists of musts and must-nots—when our Lord Himself offered a choice. Obedience of the heart is meaningful only when there is freedom to disobey.
Without the ability to choose, there would be no true transformation, and all actions would become dead works—mere means to an end rather than a living response to God’s grace.
Prayer: Father, teach us to trust Your work in the hearts of those we disciple. Help us to guide with grace, not control; to encourage surrender, not enforce compliance. Keep us mindful that true transformation comes from Your Spirit alone. May we faithfully walk alongside others, always pointing them to You, the only One who draws and saves. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
