SIMPLE LIVING

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12 NIV

There are three relationships that matter in the life of every person: the relationship with God, with others and with yourself.

In that order, every man deeply rooted in Christ, sure and understanding of their identity as holy and loved will inevitably see his fellow brothers and sisters through this same lens. Consequently, you cannot extend to others what you yourself are unable to receive, hence the order of our Lord’s command is to love others as you love yourself.

Jesus sought after the Father’s heart, cared for others and took pretty good care of himself. It was through that same culture that He was compassionate, kind, humble and patient. Observe your day to day, and prayerfully consider what is excessive and how it makes you irritable, impatient, and detached from your 3 most important relationships.

Let that be your invitation for Him to will and do in you, according to His good purposes. Hallelujah.

Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. Search my heart and rid it of any grievous ways and distractions. I rejoice in doing your will, and keeping your counsel. My spirit delights in glorifying Christ always, to the praise of your name! Amen.
