”Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:“Psalm 103:2 KJV

Memory was given an assignment by God to help us keep to mind things of the past or all that abides in our acquired knowledge and come to surface when we need it.

Your enemy the devil knows this, that is why he devises a lot of traps to keep you in forgetfulness of divine dealings in your life that prove that GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.

In Hebrews 3:6, the Bible talks about “holding fast to your confidence”. You cannot hold fast to something you have not experienced, and you cannot remember what is foreign to you.

When you have experienced God in the many ways you can however, it is up to you to make a mental note, even a soul note to lift up the experiences of God in your personal life above what you see presently or ahead of you. This stirs you up to believe that He will do it again, and even more.

Nearly all the sins of the Children of Israel were rooted in their forgetfulness of what God had done for them. No sooner had He parted the seas for them to walk on dry ground, they had already began complaining about what they will eat where He led them (Exodus 14:11).

It leaves you to wonder, is it harder to part the sea or to make food out of nothing? You would never know unless you reckon, like the psalmist, or Abraham that He who made a promise is faithful to fulfill (Hebrews 10:23), that as He began a good work in you He also sees it to accomplishment(Philippians 1:6) and finally, that it is good to always remember His deeds and bless Him in truth and in spirit (John 4:24).

Prayer: Father I thank You for this truth. I cast down every vain imagination that exalts itself above the knowledge and remembrance of who you are and what you have done. I have exercised my self to serve and honor you even with the law of my mind, that I may not sin in forgetfulness of your faithfulness, in Jesus name.
