THE DELIGHT OF THE LORD
“His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalms 147:10-11 NIV
Horses are animals that stand in glorious postures and almost instill honor. Kings and warriors delighted in them in time past, as David wrote this psalm.
The heart of God however does not rejoice in anything that prides in its strength or glory, not even moral or mental character but upon reliance on Him. Jesus was able to finish his assignment that was so taxing because He carried this heart posture from whence we get the beatitude: blessed are the poor in spirit, for they will see God.
Our God is spiritual, and keeping a lowliness of spirit means you are open to learn, to receive, to trust and most importantly to rely on He who is Father of spirits(Hebrews 12:9).
Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. My confidence and strength come from knowing I have the king of kings on my side and his very spirit in me. It shall be said of me that faith has made me whole, in Jesus name. Amen!
