THE LAW OF PREPARATION

“He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.” Isaiah 49:2 NIV

We often hear the saying, “God equips those He calls”—and while that’s true, that calling is not a license to bypass the process of preparation.

Every minister, especially one called to minister to the masses, must go through a process that tests and proves them for the office God has appointed them to. There are lessons you simply cannot learn outside of the wilderness. One of the clearest marks of someone who has been tested and proven is the maturity to walk in self-control and the discernment to recognize when their time has not yet come.

Even Jesus—fully God—did not bypass this process. Time and time again He said, “My time has not yet come.” His preparation lasted over 30 years, and in just three years of ministry, He accomplished what we still stand in awe of today—with excellence, favor, and stature before both God and man. Child of God, do not despise the season of consecration.

Don’t rush out before your time. Allow the Lord to polish you and release you when He knows you are ready.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for this wisdom. I delight in Your preparation and correction, for I know You discipline those You love. Build me in character and perseverance, that it may be said of me that I glorified You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
