THE TESTS OF HUMILITY (II)
“Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” Ecclesiastes 9:4 NIV
A certain man of God sung ‘if I am not dead you are not done, and greater things are still to come’. This is the hope we as followers of Jesus Christ carry.
Everything that is living carries hope for redemption. That is why it is wise to not write off anything, or anyone as long as there is breath in it and a God in heaven. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. We do not encourage ourselves in these manner just to get by, we sing such words, declare such words from His truth because ours is a hope that presses past the temporary into the eternal.
Let the grace of our Lord which we have been given so generously be in the same measure extended to all that lives! Praise the Lord.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. Thank you for your word that is infinite in wisdom. Thank you for granting me understanding to draw counsel from it to remain prudent in my ways. It shall be said of me that the more I have freely received, the more I freely gave that your name may be glorified! Amen.
