VOICE OF GOD (III)
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24 NIV
One thing the voice of God won’t do is to always agree with you.
If such is the way you have heard “him” thus far, chances are you have made a god in your own image. David is known to be the man with God’s heart, meaning he had a sensitivity to issues that grieved God, he waited patiently on the Lord even on matters he had skill and experience into. The voice of God is not to be sought for or heard only when its telling us what we want to hear. Jeremiah 17:9 tells us our hearts are deceitful above all things and beyond cure, and only God can search and know the hearts of men.
Learn to ask the Lord for help, and searching your heart to reveal what is deceitful in it is the greatest assistance you can ever receive.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I entrust my heart to you because you know me better than I know my self. I am committed to yield to your correction for I know you chastise those whom you love, in Jesus name. Amen!
