VOICE OF GOD (IV)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV

In the previous devotions, we’ve learned three important truths: (1) you cannot hear God apart from His Word, (2) you cannot hear Him with a noisy, distracted spirit, and (3) you cannot hear Him if you’ve already decided what you want Him to say.

Today, let’s reflect on how God speaks to us with our unique purpose in mind. In Psalm 139:3-4, the psalmist beautifully reminds us that God knows us better than we know ourselves. He is aware of our thoughts and actions even before we think or speak them. Who, then, could be more trustworthy than the all-knowing Creator? Child of God, remember this: Your Creator is also your Redeemer. He is not against you, but for you. If you feel that His plans for your life are too grand for you to accomplish, you are right!

That’s the very invitation He gives you—to depend fully on Him, for He is the source of all sufficiency. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I know that your plans for me are excellent. I lean not on my understanding or skill, but seek you at every step for you promise to be found and to help if I seek you with all my heart. To you belong all the glory, honor and my praise, in Jesus name, Amen!
