A STRONG SPIRIT

“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” Ephesians 3:16 NLT

I have often shared on the inferiority of the physical realm in contrast to the spiritual realm.

There is a distinction between strength that comes from a strong spirit and strength that man may boast in, based off of what they have in their physical world. Proverbs 18:14 speaks of such strength of spirit as able to sustain one in times of trouble or disease, but of a broken spirit being unbearable.

There is nothing you can speak to comfort a man who sees no hope before them. As believers, the strength of our spirit is put to test when tribulation comes. It is then that everything you have sowed to your spirit when life was smooth, is regurgitated from the inside of your spirit to infuse strength in your soul.

This is what makes a man stand in times of trouble, the proverbialist goes as far as calling it health to our navel and marrow to our bones (Proverbs 3:8). Child of God, of everything you invest time and resources into, let strengthening your spirit be your primary concern. One version of the same says ‘If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn’t much to you in the first place’. This is not your story! Come rain, come shine, come wind, come ease, YOU STAND. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I thank you that you have placed in me your own spirit that I may stand firm. I diligently nurture this precious gift for I know in it is the power to sustain me regardless of what my situation may be. Praise be unto God who always causes me to triumph in Christ Jesus, Amen!
