AN EVER READY LABORER

“You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other unbelievers about me. When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
Matthew 10:18-20 NLT

As a believer, every moment of your wake hours belongs to God as much as it belongs to you. We ought to always stand ready to explain the hope by which we live (1 Peter3:15) but this requires that the Lord be sanctified in our hearts.

Such opportunities find men whose lives alone tell a story, a story of the faith not just in but of the Son of God (Galatians 2:20). Your life tells a story by how you handle conflict, how you deal with situations supposed to instill fear, what comes out of your mouth when you are under pressure and the degree to which you keep a hold of your faith when tribulations are at your door.

Naturally, this is a discipline you acquire by intimacy and communion with our Lord, through His word until it permeates your every member and becomes the lens by which you see and interpret the world. Child of God, the hope we have is one that doesn’t disappoint, and you stand as a representative of it wherever you go.

Let your pleasant sacrifice unto God be to cause the hearts of men to covet your relationship to Him and let that drive them to the cross. As our Master and Friend said ‘If I be lifted, I will draw men to my self (John 12:32)’. This is how you lift our Lord, and He does the drawing. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I am taught of God and I lean my understanding on your spirit present in me. I relate to the world according to my experience with your word and because of that, I am able to speak the oracles of God. Let all that I do give you honor and praise, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
