CLING TO THE WORD

“Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.” Psalms 119:49-50 NKJV

There are moments in life when everything around us feels heavy and uncertain. Yet the psalmist shows us that true comfort is found not in changing circumstances, but in God’s unchanging Word. He reminds God of the promise that gave him hope, not because God forgets, but because His Word is sure and unfailing.

In affliction, many things lose their power to sustain us, but the Word of God never does. It is not just encouragement, it is truth and life. What the Lord has spoken breathes strength into weary hearts and lifts our eyes beyond present trials. His promises remind us that we are not forgotten, and His Word steadies us when everything else shakes.

Hope rooted in God’s Word allows us to walk through difficulty with confidence. Affliction may remain for a time, but His promises bring a comfort no trouble can take away.

Prayer: My Father, I thank You for Your Word that gives me hope and life. In seasons of affliction, I rest in what You have spoken, for Your promises never fail. Teach me to draw comfort not from what I see, but from what You have said. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
