DIVINE HONOR
“You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; You have made me the head of the nations; A people I have not known shall serve me. As soon as they hear of me they obey me; The foreigners submit to me.”
David was not a perfect individual, but the brokenness of his spirit before God caused Him to exalt him above his peers and in a way never seen before in all Israel.
In our theme scripture, David gives us a liberating principle that many in places of leadership tend to miss. Honor is not something you can demand, it is something that can only be attributed to you by the hand of God for even the fruit you produce may not be enough to honor you (
). When you set your heart to honor God wholly, to be sensitive and responsive to His Holy Spirit in you, it is very rare that He will not bestow upon you honor both with Himself and with man. Jesus himself had to grow in favor and stature before God and man, how much more us?Child of God, the honor God gives has no precedence or end to it. It doesn’t wait for men that know you for it carries a presence to it that will cause even strangers and foreigners to recognize that this is an honorable man/ woman. Labor to get the wisdom that builds, the understanding that establishes and knowledge that avails the treasures dwelling in Christ through you and watch the Lord cause honor to rest upon you. Hallelujah !
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I am a learned and ruled spirit and I don’t concern my self with matters above my head. Teach my heart to obey and show me the ways I should go for all things draw their life from you. I know who you honor no man can shun, and it is to this end that the praise I seek is yours above all else. Deal with me according to your good pleasure, in Jesus name, Amen!
