ENDURANCE & PERSEVERANCE

“If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?”
Jeremiah 12:5 NIV

Many times, we ascribe faithfulness to God based on what He has done for us, and while that is fine it is shaky ground.

Hebrews 11:27 speaks of “seeing Him who is invisible”, and Paul invites us in a higher dimension of divine thought which is to be so intimately acquainted with your Lord and Savior as He is, not simply on the basis of what He does. There are difficulties that will be somewhat bearable, and there are others that will truly test our faith, shake our foundations, make every attempt to make us draw back and denounce the faith — yet, the Lord says even then, I AM that I AM.

Nothing can ever have the appeal it had before for the eyes that have truly seen Jesus, and to such an individual this sight they beheld is only fanned in the furnace of great trials and tribulations. Praise Him.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this wisdom. I pray for humility to understand the depths of your love, the eyes to behold the lamb, and a heart that is moved in compassion — that I may do the works of my Father, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
