FREE FROM ANXIETY
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” Psalms 34:4 NIV
David wrote this psalm after God delivered him from Abimelech, though he hardly mentions it.
Like David, we sometimes find ourselves overwhelmed by anxiety, often caused by our own sins, self-sufficiency or mistakes. Yet, if sin could block God’s mercy, we’d have no hope. The beauty of God’s grace is that He offers mercy, even to the rebellious, and has already provided an advocate for sinners. David teaches us that no one is too far gone to turn to the Lord, as long as they believe. God delivers us from ALL fears, not just some. He completely removes both our fears and their causes.
Prayer, in God’s power, overcomes every obstacle, defeats every enemy, and leaves nothing behind. Remember, child of God, you have a Father who cares deeply and can reach you, no matter how deep the pit.
Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. I thank you for your faithfulness even when we are faithless. I thank you for your son who lives to make intercession for me and by whom I am justified. Let my surrender be a pleasant offering to you, in Jesus name. Amen!
