KNOWLEDGE THAT PROTECTS
“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14 NIV
The knowledge of God is not merely information, it is protection.
The prophet Habakkuk spoke these words during a time of great injustice and confusion. Nations were rising in violence, the wicked seemed to prosper, and it appeared as though evil had the final word. Yet in the middle of this chaos, God revealed a promise: one day the earth would be filled with the knowledge of His glory.
As old as that prophecy may be, it is not any different from what we are witnessing today in our world. He does not say the earth will simply hear about God. He says it will be filled with the knowledge of His glory—as completely as the waters cover the sea.
Just as the ocean floor is entirely submerged, the awareness of God’s glory will one day saturate the world without exception. But this promise does not only speak about the future of the world. It also speaks about the protection of the believer.
The more our hearts are filled with the knowledge of God’s glory, the less room there is for deception, fear, and the lies of the enemy. When we know God’s heart and nature, circumstances may shake us, but they cannot uproot us.
Child of God, The knowledge of His glory becomes a shield over our minds and a guide for our steps. One day the whole earth will be filled with it. But today, God desires that our hearts be filled first.
Prayer: My Father, I thank you for this truth. I thank you for your faithfulness and your sovereignty because you stay the same yesterday, today and forever. My faith is anchored on the rock that is immovable. I have tested and proved you time and time again, and my hope cannot be cut short. To you be all glory, honor and praise. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
